About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Hovedøya small-boat marina is located in the innermost part of the Oslofjord, on the small, green island of Hovedøya just outside central Oslo. Several boat clubs are based on the island, and the guest harbour lies in the bay on the island's east side, adjoining a timber quay.
The guest berths are at a floating pontoon connected to the timber quay in the bay. Note that according to a 2024 update the guest pontoon is closed after the municipality removed the so-called "kommunebrygge" - so check the current status before planning a stop. Available boat berths in the harbour are otherwise rented out via Havneweb.
On the timber quay itself there is access to shore power, though you'll need to bring a long extension cable. The other pontoons in the harbour have fresh water, while there is no water directly at the guest pontoon. The harbour also offers showers, toilets, pump-out of holding tanks and fuel, plus a children's playground.
Just a short walk from the harbour you'll find the ruins of Hovedøya Abbey, a Cistercian monastery founded in 1147, along with two cannon batteries from 1808. In summer the island has a kiosk and café with food service, and the restaurant Klosterkroa as well as barbecue areas are also found on the island. The west side of the island offers two large beaches, while a large grassy field in the middle of the island is used for ball games and other activities.
