Södra Hamn

Västra Kajen Camping & Gästhamn is located at Södra Hamnen on the Piteå river, only about 500 metres from Piteå town centre. It is a personal camping and guest harbour with a maritime feel and a central location, surrounded by old harbour warehouses.

Entry is from Pitsundet by Pite havsbad, where an opening bridge has a maximum clearance of 13.5 metres, or alternatively through the canal from the north (motorboats only). The water depth is 2.5-3 metres throughout the harbour, and boats are moored to a buoy or anchor – berths cannot be pre-booked. The harbour offers around 50 guest berths, with the possibility of shore power for about 30 of the boats.

On land you'll find a service building with toilets, showers, a laundry and a kitchen, plus electricity on the pier and wireless internet. The harbour's own Ship's Café offers outdoor seating, and within the harbour area you can also buy camping accessories and petrol.

Within walking distance you'll find shops, museums, restaurants and lovely parks, as well as cycling and walking paths. Piteå's pedestrian street was Sweden's first car-free shopping street, and the old wooden church from 1686 stands centrally in town. Tie up at Västra Kajen and explore Piteå's charming town centre on foot or by bike.
