Sønderballe Bådehavn

Sønderballe Bådelaug runs this welcoming marina, beautifully located in Genner Bugt by Lillebælt in southern Jutland. The harbour is a gathering spot for sailors, anglers and locals alike, who meet by the barbecue on summer evenings, and the floating pontoons provide shelter from waves in all wind directions.

The harbour has no permanent harbour master, but a duty roster where members take turns handling any issues. Sønderballe operates as a cashless harbour with a payment machine that accepts international credit cards, and guests receive a ticket after paying. The slipway at the harbour is popular among boaters and anglers.

Toilets and showers are open to everyone and free of charge, though a hot shower costs 10 kroner (euros cannot be used). Guests can borrow a key to the boat club's clubhouse (the fishing house), which also has tables and chairs for free use. Shore power is available on the pontoons, and the marina provides free bicycles for overnight guests. The harbour also has a small playground.

Close to the harbour you'll find a child-friendly sandy beach in the sheltered bay, as well as Sønderballe Strand Camping, where you can buy fresh bread, groceries and traditional barbecue fare. With the free loan bikes you can cycle out to, among other places, Kalvø and enjoy the nature around Sønderballe Strand. Tie up in Sønderballe and enjoy the calm atmosphere and scenic surroundings.
