About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Stadthafen Sassnitz is the town harbour in the northeastern part of Rügen, a home port for leisure sailors as well as large and traditional sailing vessels, with a total of 106 berths in boxes ranging from 2.50x9.00 m to 6.00x14.00 m. The harbour lies right in the town centre by the striking pedestrian suspension bridge that connects the town directly to the harbour.
Berths cost from €16 up to €40 depending on size, from the smallest boxes (001-017) to the largest (091-093).
At the harbour you'll find 4 public parking spaces as well as a multi-storey car park with 472 covered spaces and 60 outdoor spaces on the parking deck for vehicles over 2.20 m in height; the car park is wheelchair accessible with a lift.
Walk the roughly 1.5 km long outer pier out to the green-and-white lighthouse dating from 1903, visit the decommissioned British submarine HMS Otus in the harbour, or head to Jasmund National Park with its Chalk Coast and Königsstuhl. South of the harbour towards Binz lies a sandy beach for swimming, while north of the harbour fossil hunters can find specimens along the coast. Berth in the historic town centre and step straight out onto the pier towards the lighthouse.
