About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Tegernsee Touring Yacht-Club (TTYC) is a sailing club with its own jetty at Strandbad Kaltenbrunn in Gmund am Tegernsee. The club was founded in 1969 by ten touring sailors from the Tegernsee valley, and after finding a shared base at the lakeside bathing area, the first club jetty with 20 berths was inaugurated in 1975.
Proximity to the bathing area's café gave club life a noticeable boost, and all 20 berths at the jetty were soon filled, while the club's young sailors were given dinghies with berths at the bathing area. The club regularly hosts sailing events, including the long-standing Bierschiffregatta, which was originally reserved for cabin boats but is now open to all boat types.
