About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Wassersportclub Rhede (Ems) runs a marina idyllically situated at km 217.85 on the western bank of the Dortmund-Ems Canal, about 1 km from the centre of Rhede (Ems). Coming from the sea, it is the last marina before the Herbrum lock, and coming from inland it is the last on the inner waterway.
The marina has an outer harbour and an inner harbour. The outer harbour and the approach to the lock are tide-dependent and cannot be navigated at low water – boats at the jetty dry out, so the boat must be moored with some slack so it does not hang on the bollards. Access to the jetty is secured with a door. The inner harbour has a fairway depth of at least 1.20 m and lies on a fully enclosed plot, where the boat can be safely moored at a finger pontoon. Locking through requires pre-booking at least 1 day before the desired time.
Berths in the inner harbour are equipped with shore power, and there are ample fresh water connections at all pontoons. The inner harbour has toilets, showers, a clubhouse and a covered, wind-sheltered seating area. Barbecuing is possible on the club grounds by arrangement with the harbourmaster. The outer harbour is about 300 m on foot from the inner harbour and also has cosy seating areas.
