About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Wassersportfreunde Budenheim is a club marina in the picturesque Budenheimer Altrhein, an approximately 2.5 km side arm of the Rhine near Mainz, separated from the main stream by the Eltviller Aue and part of the Haderaue–Königsklinger Aue nature reserve.
Entry to the Altrhein is at Rhine kilometre 512.5 (left bank) between the green fairway buoys; after passing the ferry, keep to the left channel straight into the marina. Water depth here is about 1.00 m at the Mainz gauge.
Guest berths offer a quiet setting in a protected floodplain landscape, with cosy gathering spots around the clubhouse and experienced, hospitable people on site to welcome visitors.
About 2 km away lies the town of Budenheim, with shops and restaurants for a pleasant stay. The surrounding area also offers walking and cycling paths along the Rhine, vineyards and excursion destinations in the Rheingau, and proximity to Mainz and Rheinhessen. Moor in the calm Altrhein and walk the 2 km into Budenheim for a relaxed break from the busy Rhine shipping traffic.
