About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

Watersportvereniging H.W.N. runs a club marina in the inner harbour of Den Helder, close to Willemsoord and the town centre – an ideal base for exploring the northern tip of Noord-Holland, Den Helder and Texel. The marina has around 100 berths and can accommodate boats up to 12.5 metres in a box berth; if you need a larger berth, it's best to contact the harbourmaster directly.

The harbourmaster usually manages to find a pleasant spot for guest boats too. From the inner harbour it's easy to reach the Wadden Sea and the North Sea via the Koopvaarderschutsluis lock and the Moormanbrug bridge, and the good cooperation with the lock and bridge keeps delays to a minimum.

The marina has been thoroughly renovated in recent years, and the facilities – shower, toilet, washing machine and dryer – are almost new. All the pontoons have electricity, which you can easily connect to via the Stroomkast app, with help from the harbourmaster if needed.

As a club marina, H.W.N. keeps its rates friendly. Berth in Den Helder's inner harbour and take the short walk to Willemsoord and the town centre.
