Watersportvereniging Makkum

On the shore of the IJsselmeer at Makkum lies the campsite De Holle Poarte, known as North Netherlands' windsurfing paradise with two large sandy beaches right by the water.

For small boats there is a free, simple sand ramp (trailerhelling) where you can launch and haul out your boat. At the exit barrier there is a camper service point where you can empty wastewater and toilet cassettes and refill fresh drinking water.

On site you'll find toilets and showers in the central sanitary building, a laundry with coin-operated washing machines and dryers, free wifi at the reception, a supermarket with fresh rolls available from 08.00, six restaurants and cafés nearby, plus bike rental (including e-bikes) and playgrounds for children.

The small Frisian village of Makkum is close by, with old streets, half-timbered houses, terraces overlooking the boats, homemade ice cream, local cheese and beer. Launch your boat at the ramp and walk the few minutes into Makkum's charming streets.
