About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

WV Neusen is a Dutch sailing club with marinas in Terneuzen on the Westerschelde and the Kanaal van Gent naar Terneuzen. The club has a Buitenhaven with 87 permanent berths, a Binnenhaven and Centrumhaven with just over 40 larger and smaller berths, and a facility on zijkanaal A with a further 40 berths plus space for 35 boats ashore for maintenance.

The approach to the Veerhaven, where Buitenhaven lies to port, has a depth at average low water of 3.40-3.90 m. The channel is narrow with strong currents on both flood and ebb, and the eastern breakwater must be rounded well clear due to rock armour extending up to 20 m from the dam. Mooring or anchoring in the Veerhaven is forbidden except in the marinas. Berths marked with a green sign are in principle free, but you should still report to the harbourmaster after mooring.

At Buitenhaven you'll find toilets, showers, washbasins and shore power on the berths. The facility on zijkanaal A also has a mast crane along with toilets and showers.

The harbours in Terneuzen lie close to the town centre, with a shopping centre and supermarkets within short reach. From the harbour you can pass through locks onto the Westerschelde and on to the Belgian hinterland, with cities such as Ghent and Antwerp, as well as to Veerse Meer and Oosterschelde, all reachable within a day's sailing.
