Yacht-Club Pirat Niederkassel (YCPN)

Yacht-Club Pirat Niederkassel (Kanu-Klub „Pirat“) is a canoe club on the Rhine near the mouth of the Sieg in Troisdorf-Bergheim, with around 200 members active in canoe polo, canoe touring and canoe racing. The club runs two boathouses: the oldest, at Nachtigallenweg 37, sits directly on the Discholl, a dead arm of the Sieg at its confluence with the Rhine, while the second boathouse is at Eschmarer See, a former gravel pit, where training takes place from Easter to the autumn holidays.

There is no information on approach channels, depths, VHF channel or guest berths for pleasure craft, as the site functions primarily as a canoe club rather than a traditional marina.

The Nachtigallenweg boathouse today houses a restaurant with panoramic windows overlooking the Discholl and a sun terrace with views over the side-arm. It also has changing rooms, a gym and storage for touring canoes. At Eschmarer See, sanitary facilities are located in the neighbouring buildings, along with a meeting room with bar and kitchen, a workshop and storage for touring boats.

Visitors can enjoy the scenic setting where the Rhine meets the Sieg, and the club holds annual events such as a family camp and summer festival. Stop by and take in the view from the sun terrace at Discholl while experiencing the club's canoeing tradition dating back to 1926.
