YC Dortmund Ems e.V. Olfen

YC Dortmund Ems e.V. Olfen is a marina on the Dortmund-Ems Canal in Olfen in the Münsterland region, run by the local yacht club. The marina was originally located in Olfen, then it was moved to its current location, and with its new jetty the club can now offer moorings for 30 yachts of all lengths – boats up to 13 m in length are given a box berth, while longer yachts moor at the longitudinal dock. The club generally provides berths for visiting sailors and day guests, and the harbour basin is, according to the club itself, inviting for a swim.

On the marina grounds you'll find a cosy log cabin as well as a sanitary building with shower and WC. Electricity is available at the berths, billed according to consumption for annual members and winter guests. Just outside the marina there is a free-of-charge slipway at Alte Fahrt, though it is kept very shallow. The club also provides two club bicycles free of charge for visitors to explore the surrounding area.

Olfen, 3 km away, is easily reached by bike and, according to the marina, offers every conceivable shopping facility, making a visit well worthwhile. The surrounding countryside is furthermore ideal for hiking and cycling tours through the hilly Münsterland.
