About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Aarø Havn is a small marina on the island of Aarø, located just outside the entrance to Haderslev Fjord in the Little Belt. The harbour has room for around 80 boats and is primarily a summer harbour for guest sailors. The harbour is also home to the Aarø ferry, which connects the island to Aarøsund, so keep a good lookout for the ferry when mooring or departing.
At the harbour you'll find the basic facilities, including toilets and showers, fresh water and shore power on the pontoons, a washing machine, as well as diesel and a crane. There is also wifi, bike rental and a small barbecue kiosk where you can buy essentials – daily offers are often posted locally. The harbour also has nice barbecue areas and a small playground, where children can try crab fishing.
Just a short walk from the harbour takes you to the idyllic town of Aarø, with narrow streets, stone walls and impressive old farmhouses. On the island you'll find the small vineyard Årø Vingård, which grows red, rosé and white wine and has won several awards, as well as a small local fishing association museum with items from the island's heyday as a fishing harbour. There are also great hiking opportunities to the wildlife refuge Aarø Kalv, and wherever you go on the island a beautiful sea view awaits. Moor in this peaceful harbour and experience the intimate atmosphere of one of the Little Belt's smallest island harbours.
