About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Puerto Deportivo El Abra-Getxo opened in 1997 as the first marina in the Basque Country and sits at the entrance to the Port of Bilbao, right next to Ereaga beach in Getxo. With its large number of berths, it is regarded as one of the biggest marinas in the region.
The marina has a depth of around 5 metres at the entrance and at least 3 metres at the pontoons. There is room for roughly 827 boats between 6 and 18 metres, including about 30 guest berths for boats in transit.
Ashore you'll find toilets and showers, drinking water and shore power at the berths, wifi, a laundry, a fuel station, a travel lift and crane, a slipway, and a 9,000 m² boatyard with a chandlery. There is also parking, a bar, a restaurant and a grocery store, and right by the marina stands a six-screen cinema complex plus a playground.
The marina is just steps from Ereaga beach and the Las Arenas district with its cafés and shops, about 16 km from Bilbao (connected by metro) and 14 km from Loiu airport.
