About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Armintza Portua is a small, old harbour in the village of Armintza in the municipality of Lemoiz in the Spanish Basque Country, situated in the bay after which it is named. The harbour has evolved from a fishing port into one mainly hosting leisure boats, while still retaining its original charm. It is today managed by the public Basque port authority EKP and offers 124 berths for vessels up to 9 metres in length.
The entrance to the harbour is difficult and somewhat dangerous due to the many rocks and underwater shoals found in the approach channel, both at the tip of the breakwater and to the west. The depth at low tide in the entrance is about 1 metre, the entrance width is roughly 10-15 metres, and the tidal range can reach up to 4.5 metres, requiring extra caution on arrival.
On the pontoons you'll find fresh water and shore power connections. The harbour also has three launching ramps and a 6-tonne crane, which can be used for lifting boats in and out of the water.
Right next to the harbour you'll find several bars and restaurants serving grilled fish - a great reason to go ashore and experience the authentic atmosphere of the former fishing village before continuing your sailing along the Basque coast.
