About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Amieira Marina is a river marina located on a peninsula on Lake Alqueva, close to the village of Amieira in the Alentejo region. It is described as the largest nautical infrastructure on Alqueva and was established after the completion of the Alqueva Dam in 2002. The marina has 49 permanent mooring sites and serves as the main departure point for houseboats and cruises on the lake.
As a visiting sailor you can moor in the marina's harbour, where berthing is offered at affordable prices. The marina is the starting point for exploring the vast Alqueva Reservoir, and the boats available here are equipped with GPS and sonar for safe navigation.
On site you'll find a fuel pump, water and shore power supply at the berths, and a slipway. There is also a travel lift and lifting gear for boats, as well as engine, hull and sail repair services. For guests there are toilets and showers, free wifi, parking and bike hire, and you can enjoy a break at the panoramic restaurant or the terrace bar overlooking the lake.
The marina is within walking distance of the village of Amieira, and the houseboats allow you to sail to several river piers and visit the lakeside villages on foot or by bicycle. Near the marina you'll also find Amieira's river beach, stretching around 600 metres, of which 150 metres are supervised, with a bar, restaurant, changing rooms and showers.
