About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Cais Ancoradouro da Estrela is a small anchorage on the large Alqueva reservoir, located right next to the village of Aldeia da Estrela in the municipality of Moura, Alentejo. The current pier was built to replace an earlier structure and has a mooring length of 24 metres; its operation and maintenance are managed jointly by EDIA (Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infraestruturas do Alqueva) and the Moura municipality.
The anchorage can be used year-round, and the launching ramp has been extended so it also works when the reservoir's water level is low. From the village centre, by the church square, a dirt area serves as parking; the pier itself lies only about 50 metres from there.
On site you will find a launching ramp for smaller boats as well as the parking area mentioned above, right next to the anchorage.
Aldeia da Estrela village is within short walking distance, and the spot is highlighted as a good destination for a walk, a picnic, or a swim in the reservoir. Boats crossing the Alqueva reservoir — including some from Marina da Amieira — occasionally dock here. Head out to Estrela and combine your stop with a stroll through the village or a refreshing swim in the lake.
