About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Anleger Glewitzer Fähre is a small guest harbour and water-hikers' rest stop on Rügen's south-eastern coast, at the point where the Strelasund opens into the Greifswalder Bodden, close to the village of Glewitz on the Zudar peninsula. The harbour was rebuilt as a stopover marina in late 2014/early 2015, when the shore protection and the eastern breakwater from 1935 were thoroughly renewed and a new sheet-pile wall with an attached pontoon was built, also providing modern berths for larger sailing and motor yachts.
Approach is via the Strelasund fairway from buoy 20 straight into the harbour, and arrival is possible both by day and at night. Depths at the guest berths are given as around 2.2-2.9 metres, and the harbour offers around 32 guest berths. Right next to it is the ferry landing, where the Weiße Flotte runs frequent summer crossings to Stahlbrode on the mainland - be aware that the busy ferry traffic can make a longer stay somewhat unsettled, especially in strong southerly winds.
Ashore you'll find newer sanitary facilities with toilets and showers, a kiosk, power and water at the pontoon, and a laundry. There is also a slipway for launching smaller boats.
The small village of Glewitz offers only limited shopping, but Rügen is easy to explore on foot, by bike, aboard the narrow-gauge steam train Rasender Roland, or by bus.
