About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026The avant-port is one of four basins within the regional harbour of Port du Palais on the north coast of Belle-Île, a port that combines commercial, fishing, leisure boating and passenger transport activities. The avant-port is always afloat and generally well sheltered from the wind, except from east to south-east.
Announce your arrival on VHF channel 9, as ferries and passenger boats have priority in the harbour. In the avant-port you moor alongside buoys, either at the north dike with 30 spots and up to 3 metres draft, or at the breakwater with 35 spots and up to 2 metres draft on a modular floating pontoon with shore access.
The harbour offers toilet and shower facilities as well as a washing machine and dryer, and wifi is available. At Cale Bonnelle you'll find a self-service fuel station with card payment, and a chandlery is located near the harbour.
Within walking distance from the quay you'll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops in the centre of Le Palais, as well as the imposing Citadelle Vauban overlooking the harbour town. Moor in the avant-port and explore the harbour town's lively centre and historic citadel on foot.
