About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Noorderrot is a small, community-run harbour in the village of Noordeinde in the municipality of Oldebroek, situated on the Drontermeer – where the old Zuiderzee coastline once ran. The harbour was built by and for the residents of Noordeinde and Kerkdorp and opened on 1 June 2024, when mayor Tanja Haseloop-Amsing and the association's chairman unveiled the information board. The harbour offers room for 20 boats and a channel leading out to the Drontermeer.
The harbour was created as an alternative to boats scattered along the shore and connects the channel with the existing fairway in the Drontermeer. It is a small-scale, low-key facility for open boats and canoes rather than a large tourist marina.
On site you'll find a fishing jetty, a trailer launch spot, a canoe berth and a swimming raft, all built in cooperation with local schoolchildren and the youth club of Noordeinde.
Noordeinde is the smallest and northernmost settlement in the Oldebroek municipality, and the Drontermeer is a Natura 2000 area. The harbour serves as the village's meeting place, where young and old gather to share stories of the sea, the war and the land reclamation, while enjoying the open water and nature around the lake.
