About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Beresje sadam is a small boat harbor in the village of Beresje in Setomaa Parish, located on Lake Pihkva (part of the Lake Peipus system). The harbor was built by the Setomaa municipal government based on a 2016 project and was opened in June 2023; construction was funded through the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund together with the municipal budget.

The harbor is located at Navoloki tn 3. It features a floating pier with berths for 10 boats up to 6.1 x 2.4 m, plus a slipway. Water depth at the piers ranges between 1.5 and 2 meters. Next to the slipway there is a gravel-surfaced maneuvering and parking area for boat trailers, cars and caravans, connected to Navoloki street. The harbor does not offer paid harbor services, and its season runs from 15 March to 1 November.

In terms of facilities, parking and a slipway for launching boats are confirmed.

Beresje is the only village in Setomaa still inhabited by Old Believers (starovers), and the village has its roots as a traditional fishing settlement on the lake shore, with houses built in rows parallel to the coast. At the edge of the village lies an old village cemetery, which also includes the Old Believers' burial site. Tie up at the new floating pier and experience this quiet, historic fishing village by the lake.
