Bootshafen Walter

Bootshafen Walter is a private marina at Neckar kilometre 137.5 on the left bank, between Besigheim and Hessigheim below the Felsengärten, in a scenic lock stretch between Stuttgart and Heilbronn. The marina offers year-round berths in the water for around 40 boats up to about 11 metres in length and is run as a small family business in its fourth generation.

Guest boats are always welcome, but as space is limited you should call ahead to arrange your arrival. The marina belongs to the "Freundschaft auf dem Wasser" network, and skippers whose home harbour is in the same network get 3 days free berthing; a 5-euro-per-night fee applies for waste and water, while electricity is billed according to consumption.

The marina has a toilet container available during the season and a shower without a coin meter. Water and electricity connections are available at the berths.

Besigheim's historic old town with shops and restaurants is about a 15-minute walk away, while two grocery stores (Aldi and Lidl) can be reached in about 10 minutes along the Neckar embankment. The Mineralparkfreibad open-air pool is just 300 metres from the marina – great for boaters and families with children. Tie up at this charming river marina and take the short walk into Besigheim's historic old town.
