About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026NFSV Rantum is a small sailing club harbour located directly within the North Frisian Wadden Sea National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The jetty sits idyllically by the Rantum-Becken (a bird sanctuary), sheltered on the east side of Rantum on Sylt.
The harbour lies south of the Hindenburgdamm and can therefore only be approached from the south. At low tide the harbour falls dry, and with a tidal range of only 1.5 m only shallow-draft boats, with a recommended maximum draft of 1.00-1.10 m, can reach and stay at the berths. Guests are welcome and guest berths are available.
On site you'll find a boat hall with modern sanitary facilities, a clubroom with a view over the Wadden Sea, and a garden with a grill area right by the dike. Shore power is also available at the berth.
Rantum is only 8 km from Westerland (the island's centre), and the village has a small grocery store, a bakery and numerous restaurants, plus kilometres of beach and the Wadden Sea right on the doorstep. The nearest bus stop, connecting to all towns on the island, is about a 5-minute walk from the harbour. Tie up here and experience the quiet, nature-rich atmosphere amid the birdlife of the Wadden Sea.
