About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Cala Dragunara is a small, picturesque cove on the eastern side of Capo Caccia, in the municipality of Alghero, north-western Sardinia. The cove lies within the Porto Conte Regional Park and the protected marine area of Capo Caccia–Isola Piana, close to the large Porto Conte bay.

This is not a conventional marina with piers. Instead, mooring buoys have been laid near the cove to protect the Posidonia oceanica seagrass from anchor damage, and boats can pick up a buoy rather than anchoring directly. If no buoy is free, boats must anchor a little further from shore. A small jetty on the beach is also used by excursion boats heading to Neptune's Grotto.

On shore you'll find a bar/restaurant open daily from 09:30 to 20:30, serving pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches, cold cuts and cheese platters, ice cream, and the usual aperitifs and cocktails. Public toilets and showers are available (for a fee), and the beach has waste-sorting recycling stations. Parking by the cove is free but limited, and spaces fill up quickly in high season.

Within walking distance lies the Capo Caccia headland itself with its scenic viewpoints, and Neptune's Grotto can be reached either by boat from the jetty or via the long cliffside staircase. The wider Mugoni beach in the same bay is a good alternative if Dragunara proves too small or crowded for your day.
