About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

The Cais Turístico-Fluvial de Caldas de Aregos is a river harbour facility on the southern bank of the Douro River in the municipality of Resende, just an hour's drive from Porto. The facility includes a river quay for larger tourist and cruise vessels (including floating hotel boats) as well as a "fluvina" with capacity for around 100 leisure boats.

On-site facilities include a fuel station, a storage area for pleasure boats with associated workshops, a rescue station for shipwreck victims, a building supporting the local Nautical Club (Clube Náutico), an outdoor pool, and two bars with terraces.

Within walking distance you'll find the well-known Caldas de Aregos thermal baths with therapeutic sulphur waters, and the site itself serves as the gateway to the wine-producing Douro Valley. On the opposite riverbank lies the Estação de Aregos train station, reachable via the small Barca de Aregos ferry.
