About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Porticciolo di Caposele is a small marina in the municipality of Formia in the Lazio region. The harbour has historical significance and is locally known as "porto Romano" due to its Roman origins.
The entrance is protected by two breakwaters, one facing southeast and one facing east-northeast, and the harbour is accessible around the clock. Watch out for the shallow area known as "La Pila" off the harbour, marked by a concrete pillar. The seabed is muddy, and the depth at the quay ranges from 1.2 to 1.8 metres. The harbour can be reached on VHF channel 16. There are around 130 berths for boats up to 12 metres in length, spread along approximately 200 metres of quay.
At the marina you'll find water and shore power on the pontoons, as well as toilets and showers. Fuel and wifi are also available, and the harbour has both a slipway and a crane/travel lift for boats.
Head to Caposele if you're looking for a small, authentic harbour with roots dating back to Roman times, close to Formia in Lazio.
