About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Marina di Castelsardo is a marina in northern Sardinia, set at the head of the Gulf of Asinara right at the foot of the medieval village of Castelsardo. The harbour is run by the municipally-owned company GE.CAS., which was established on the initiative of the Municipality of Castelsardo to manage the port complex.
The marina monitors VHF channel 9, and access to the harbour is continuous around the clock. The seabed inside the port is muddy, with a maximum depth of 4.5 metres. At night, take care when steering towards the harbour mouth, as the lights of neighbouring towns can be mistaken for those of the port itself. In summer, the marina also runs a special transit rate for boats up to 7 metres in length.
Among the facilities you'll find a fuel berth, toilets, showers and changing rooms. The marina also has a 50-tonne travel lift and a 10-tonne mobile crane for launching and hauling out, plus a boatyard/chandlery offering nautical accessories. Bars and restaurants can be found in and around the harbour.
Within walking distance lies Castelsardo itself, one of Sardinia's most beautiful medieval villages, home to the old Doria Castle and a maze of winding alleys lined with artisan workshops and traditional restaurants, offering sweeping views over the Gulf of Asinara. Head up to the old town to take in the history and enjoy the fine beaches just a few minutes from the marina.
