About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 30 September 2026Darsena della Madonnina is one of six basins within the port of Viareggio in Tuscany, located at the mouth of the Burlamacca Canal. The basin is dedicated to leisure craft and run by the port's operating company; it is reserved for pleasure boats up to 16 metres in length and offers around 570 berths with depths reported at up to 3.5-4.5 metres.
Access is via the port's shared outer harbour, and the port monitors VHF channel 16 around the clock. Be aware that some surge can occur at the pontoons following past works, so sturdy mooring lines are advisable. An expansion of the Madonnina basin is currently underway and is expected to be completed before summer 2027 - the new section will add 30 berths for boats up to 24 metres, with the possibility of extending capacity to yachts up to 40 metres.
At the pontoons you'll find shore power, fresh water, toilets and showers. The marina also offers a fuel berth, a crane/travel lift for larger vessels, wifi, small shops, plus parking and waste disposal facilities.
A short walk into town brings you to the canal promenade lined with numerous restaurants, cinemas and shops - one of Viareggio's lively hubs for both sailors and locals.
