Doeshaven

WSV Doeshaven is a sailing-club marina in Leiderdorp in South Holland, squeezed between the A4 motorway and the Does stream, close to the Oude Rijn. The association was founded in 1965 and today has more than 650 berths, and the marina describes itself as the largest in the region.

Visiting sailors are warmly welcome and moor at the guest jetty right at the front by the clubhouse - not tucked away in a corner. Drinking water is included in the fee at the jetty, along with shore power, and wifi is available throughout the harbour area. Access to the gate, the power post and the showers is managed with a marina payment card against a deposit, which is refunded when you leave.

In the clubhouse you'll find toilets, washbasins and showers as well as a washing machine and dryer. Out on the harbour grounds, right next to the crane, stands a diesel pump and a gas-bottle depot where you can refuel diesel or collect a full gas bottle - during winter (1 November to 1 April) only by appointment with the harbourmaster. A 10-tonne mast crane is used for hauling out boats. Bilge and black-water pump-out is normally available, except on the days the crane is used for lifting. A good restaurant and a view over the green countryside are also mentioned as part of a stay here.

Nearby are several beautiful lakes - the Braassemermeer, the Wijde Aa and the ever-beautiful Kagerplassen.
