Essener Outboard-Club

Essener Outboard Club (EOC) runs a club marina on the river Ruhr in Essen Werden, below the Baldeneysee at Ruhr-kilometre 25.8. The marina has 13 jetties and takes boats up to 14 metres in length, and has been awarded the 'Qualitätssiegel-Maritim' quality seal by DMYV and DSV.

Current conditions at the jetties are moderate, making approach straightforward, and helpers are usually on hand for mooring. Guest berths are always available. The daily rate starts from 16 EUR for boats up to 8 metres (base rate), plus 2 EUR per additional metre; boats in the 'grüne Flotte' pay 20 EUR including 2 people. Additional charges apply for showers (1.50 EUR per person), electricity (1.50-2.50 EUR flat fee) and drinking water for boats over 8 metres (1.50 EUR). Long-term berths start from 184 EUR per month.

All jetties have 230V shore power, and the marina offers clean toilets and showers as well as drinking water. There is a barbecue area for guests (bring your own grill) and parking on the club grounds.

Right next to the marina is Schevener Hof, with a cosy beer garden and a restaurant serving traditional cuisine, overlooking the marina and the Ruhr - perfect after a day on the water. Moor at one of the 13 jetties and walk the few steps to Schevener Hof for a cold beer with a view of the Ruhr.
