About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026

ETUF e.V. is a sailing club on Lake Baldeneysee in the southern part of Essen, right below Villa Hügel – the only lake in North Rhine-Westphalia with a connection to the open sea. The club has over 400 members, including more than 80 young sailors, and serves as a regional training centre with 25 youth boats.

The club offers both water and land berths as well as a 2-tonne crane for launching and hauling out boats.

On site there is a year-round club restaurant with a winter garden and sun terraces overlooking the lake, plus a workshop shed for the boats.

The location is just 100 metres from the Hügel S-Bahn station (S6), seven minutes from Essen main station and 25 minutes from Düsseldorf main station. Moor at Baldeneysee and enjoy the view from the sun terraces after a day on the water.
