About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Frafjord kai is a guest harbour at the village of Frafjord in Gjesdal municipality, at the very innermost end of Frafjorden – a roughly 6 km long fjord with steep mountainsides. The harbour lies in a quiet, scenic area surrounded by high mountains.
You moor to the quay or a floating dock, along a wooden pier on the north side. Depths vary along the dock, and a draft of 1.2 m is fine. Larger boats can moor at the public quay further south in the fjord. The harbour is a good starting point for trips to the Månafossen waterfall.
Ashore you'll find shore power, fresh water for the boat, showers and toilets, plus a washing machine. There is also a playground for children and a swimming area for a refreshing dip.
Frafjord is a small farming community with around 100 residents. From here you can walk the old road up to Giljastølen, and nearby there is a water sports centre with kayak and SUP rental as well as a bathing and picnic area by the quay. Tie up in Frafjord and enjoy the fjord's steep mountain walls and the village's idyllic calm.
