About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Granvik guest harbour lies on the northwestern shore of Lake Vättern, about 15 km north of Karlsborg, with the vast Tiveden forest as its nearest neighbour. The site is a former industrial hamlet with a long history, where the harbour once served as a loading place for the Tiveden ironworks, and today it sits idyllically surrounded by forest and cliffs by the shores of Vättern.
The harbour was dredged in 2017, giving it a harbour depth of 2.5 metres. There are 10 guest berths with Y-boom moorings, 2.5-4 metres wide. Larger boats can with advantage moor alongside on the outside of the harbour in all wind directions except southerly ones. The guest fee is 220 SEK per night, with electricity available at extra cost.
At the harbour you'll find a newer service building with showers and toilets, a fish-cleaning facility, a small guest pantry and a harbour office. There is also a boat ramp, usable for a separate ramp fee. Right by the water there is furthermore a pub that has recently been fully renovated.
From here it's a short way to Tiveden's wild nature, described as Sweden's southernmost wilderness, with trails such as Djäknerundan winding through old-growth forest and past dramatic cliffs. Moor up in Granvik and experience both the maritime history and the rugged Tiveden nature up close.
