About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Hallig Segel-Club auf Hooge runs the small guest marina in the Hooger Schleuse on the hallig island of Hooge, on the North Frisian Wadden Sea coast, sheltered by the summer dike. The harbour has around 20 guest berths at a jetty and a stone pier, for boats up to 20 metres in length and a maximum draft of 1.80 m; the sluice entrance is 4.80 m wide, and the harbour dries out completely at low tide. In front of the sluice entrance at the east groyne there are landing spots for flat-bottomed boats, and kayakers can use a dedicated landing point as well as camp within the harbour area. The marina has been awarded the "Qualitätssiegel - maritim" quality seal by the DMYV and DSV.
At the harbour stands the clubhouse Seilerhus with a common room, kitchen, washing machine and modern sanitary facilities, plus public toilets. Shore power and drinking water are available at the jetty and quay, there is a slipway for launching, and plenty of space on the meadow for barbecuing and socialising. Towards Kirchwarft there is a playground. Note that fuel is not available on Hallig Hooge.
A bathing spot is a five-minute walk from the harbour. At Hanswarft, about a 20-minute walk away, you'll find the Halligkaufmand grocery, museums and a cinema, a souvenir shop, a café, and the restaurants Teestube and Tom's. At Backenswarft, about 10 minutes further, are the restaurants Friesenpesel and Blaue Pesel along with bicycle and e-scooter rental.
