About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Hjarnø Bådehavn is a small marina on the island of Hjarnø at the mouth of Horsens Fjord, situated right next to the ferry berth where the Hjarnø ferry sails to and from Snaptun. The marina is counted among the smallest in Denmark and has a correspondingly tiny harbour office. A palisade wall acts as a breakwater, creating calm and shelter in the harbour despite its proximity to the busy ferry traffic. Visiting sailors are welcome to use the free berths, with room for around ten visiting boats, and there is also a solid, safe anchorage right by the marina.
The ferry to Snaptun runs frequently, up to about 30 times a day, and the crossing takes only around five minutes, making the harbour easy to reach. Please be considerate of the ferry traffic when arriving.
The service building at the harbour has toilets and showers, and shore power is available on the pontoons. By the jetty you can sit at tables and benches and use the grill. In summer the island's small café, Den Gamle Smedje, is open, and you can also grab a hot dog from the stand near the harbour. If you're short on provisions, a kiosk with basic groceries can be found at the campsite. Further inland you'll find Skolehaven, with a large playground and a covered lunch area.
