About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Insjöns Båtklubb operates a well-organised marina in Åhlbyn on Lake Insjön in Leksand municipality, Dalarna. The harbour sits on a pier that was extended to 150 metres in length in the early 1990s, with a roughly 50-metre angled section for better shelter, and today it offers 72 berths spread across 4 pontoons.
As a visiting sailor you can moor at the club's guest berth, about 40 metres long and inaugurated in 2007. The pontoon is equipped with fresh water, power outlets and lighting, plus plenty of benches to sit on. Lake Insjön connects to the Österdalälven river, which is navigable 15 kilometres south to the Gråda power plant and almost 70 kilometres north to Orsa, passing through Leksand, Tällberg and Rättvik among others.
On site you'll find a toilet, a barbecue area and a bathing spot. Berth holders also have access to a service building with toilet and shower facilities. Parking must be in the designated spots, not on the grass areas.
Next to the harbour lies a bathing beach with an adjoining barbecue area, a great place to relax after a day on the water. Insjön is also home to the headquarters of the well-known mail-order company Clas Ohlson and the Bergkvist sawmill. Tie up at the marina's generous guest berth and enjoy the lakeside atmosphere of Dalarna.
