About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Havenkwartier Blauwestad is a modern town marina dating from 2013, set in the middle of the Blauwestad residential district on Lake Oldambtmeer in Groningen. The marina has 140 permanent berths with boxes of 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12 metres, plus quay berths and spaces for rubber dinghies; all berths have a finger pontoon or lie along the Handelskade.
The sailing season runs from 1 April to 31 October. Berths can be rented as a season berth, annual berth or temporary berth (day/week/month); prices start at €325 for a season berth for a 5-metre boat. Access to the pontoons requires a SEP card, which is also used to pay for water, electricity and the black-water pump-out; the card is topped up at the harbour office in Midwolda (open 9am–5pm daily during the season).
The marina offers free parking, an extra-wide slipway, toilets and showers, motorhome pitches, a pump-out station for holding tanks, electric hook-ups and drinking-water taps, plus waste containers. Restaurant Blauwestad sits right on the harbour, with a waterside terrace in summer and a wood stove in winter. A footbridge leads to the public sandy beach "Strand Zuid" with pop-up shops, the café DEK Blauwestad, the ice-cream parlour Gelateria Milana and a playground.
There is no grocery shop within walking distance, but a short cycle ride away in Winschoten, Finsterwolde and Beerta you'll find supermarkets such as Albert Heijn, COOP, Jumbo, Aldi, Lidl, Spar and PLUS.
