About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Sleeuwijk Yachting is a large brokerage and guest marina on the river Merwede, close to the Biesbosch, Maas and Waal, with room for around 200 boats, some of which are used to display the marina's boats for sale while the rest are rented annually or to visiting yachtsmen.
A guest berth costs €2.50 per metre of length per night, with a minimum charge for 10 metres, plus tourist tax of €1.35 for guests from outside the Altena municipality; a surcharge of €2.50 per person applies for parties of more than four. The harbour office is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sundays/public holidays noon-5pm.
The marina offers modern shower and toilet facilities, free wifi, and power and water connections at the berths. There is an on-site diesel fuel berth (Shell), where you can pay by card or cash, though no petrol is available. Overlooking the marina is Brasserie 'Boven de Rivieren', with views of the Merwede and the old town centre of Gorinchem on the opposite bank.
From here you can walk along the uiterwaarden floodplains surrounding the marina, and in summer enjoy the sun-drenched terrace with views of passing boats and the town across the river. Tie up at the berth and head straight up to the brasserie's terrace for a view over the Merwede.
