About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Källa Hamn is an old limestone-shipping and fishing harbour on the northeastern coast of Öland, today run as a privately owned holiday village and small harbour with cottages sitting right on the quay. Until the late 1800s the harbour was the island's leading port for shipping stone, and it later served as a working fishing harbour until 2010.
The harbour has boat berths and a ramp for launching small boats, so you can keep your own boat moored right outside your cottage door.
On site you will find toilet and shower facilities in the cottages, wifi across the area, and bicycles available for hire if you haven't brought your own. At the far end of the quay there is also a spa area with sauna and hot tub overlooking the sea.
Within easy reach you can swim right by the harbour or cycle on to other Öland beaches, including the popular Böda sand 25 km to the north. Nearby you'll also find a farm shop, an ICA grocery store, and the well-preserved church ruin Källa gamla kyrka. Tie up at the quay, settle into a cottage, and enjoy the calm of northern Öland.
