About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Kanucharter Hofmann is a third-generation family business based in Nassau on the river Lahn. The company has been renting out boats since 1928 and today offers kayaks, Canadian canoes, pedal boats, rowing boats and electric boats for hourly hire on the Lahn, one of Germany's most popular paddling rivers, navigable along roughly 160 km from Marburg to its mouth in the Rhine at Lahnstein.
Booking is done through the company's online booking platform; canoe bookings for the following day must be received by 4:00 pm. Payment is not made upon the reservation confirmation but after a subsequent booking confirmation stating the payment terms.
Beyond the canoes, Kanucharter Hofmann operates two houseboats: 'Tom's Hütte', which requires no boating licence and sleeps up to six people, and the smaller 'Huckleberry-Inn' for a maximum of four people, cruising between Lahnstein and Dehrn. The motorboat 'Lahnperle', fitted with a 10 hp outboard, can also be hired without a licence for 2 adults and 2 children. For company or club outings, a picnic along the way or a closing barbecue in the company's beer garden can be arranged.
Plan your trip along the Lahn and book a canoe, houseboat or motorboat with Kanucharter Hofmann in Nassau – just remember the 4:00 pm booking deadline for next-day canoe trips.
