About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Kjerknesvågen kai is a guest harbour run by the Kjerknesvågen Kai- og Båtforening (pier and boat association), beautifully situated inside the Beitstadfjord in Inderøy municipality. The harbour has repeatedly been voted Norway's second-best guest harbour, and its maritime atmosphere is shaped by the historic vessel "Jekta Pauline", the world's last sailing jekt, based here.
The marina offers around 20 guest berths for boats, plus spaces for motorhomes and caravans. There is no staffed reception, so check the kiosk's opening hours on arrival; payment is made via Vipps or at the harbour cash box. The harbour fee includes electricity, and there is a small extra charge for using the shower.
On site you'll find a 24-hour sanitary facility with toilets and showers, shore power at the berths, fuel sales, and a slipway able to take vessels of up to 50 tonnes. During summer the kiosk serves coffee, ice cream, waffles and other refreshments, and for part of the season Inderøy Catering runs a pop-up restaurant on the quay. There is also a barbecue area with seating, a playground for children, and parking right down by the fjord.
Within walking distance you'll find swimming spots, smooth rocky shores and scenic hiking trails along the coastline. Nearby, Jektbasen tells the story of traditional jekt building and displays historic boat models, and every first weekend of July the harbour hosts the traditional Båttreffet boat gathering with coastal culture and atmosphere. Come alongside and enjoy the fresh sea air and maritime community at Kjerknesvågen.
