About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Kongsgårde Bro is a small, historic landing pier in the village of Kongsgårde on the Helgenæs peninsula in Syddjurs Municipality, beautifully situated by Begtrup Vig in Aarhus Bugt. The pier is owned by the sailing club BUGTEN Aarhus and dates back to 1877, when it was renovated for the steamship traffic across Aarhus Bugt – traffic that continued until 1936.
The pier may only be used by pleasure boats, and you're welcome to go ashore for day trips, but longer stays require an agreement with the sailing club BUGTEN. No motorized traffic is allowed on the pier or the adjoining land areas. If you're not a member of the sailing club BUGTEN, you must pay a mandatory maintenance fee, and if you connect to shore power, that must also be paid – the amounts are shown on labels in the warehouse, with payment deposited in the red collection box at the pier head.
In the eastern gable of the warehouse at the end of the pier you'll find a toilet and access to fresh water. In front of the warehouse there are tables, benches and a grill, free for guests of the pier to use, and waste must be disposed of in the containers provided.
Kongsgårde offers a nice small bathing beach and the village's cosy, lively harbour atmosphere with a small grocery store (Dagli'Brugsen) – the only grocery shop on the whole of Helgenæs.
