About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Marina Bad Essen sits in a 50 x 70 metre harbour basin on the Mittelland Canal (canal kilometre 61.3) in the German spa town of Bad Essen, just a few steps from the historic town centre. The marina has room for around 35 leisure craft and is run by a harbourmaster.
The season runs from 1 April to 30 September; the marina is closed in winter. The entrance is 8.50 m wide and about 1.80 m deep, and only vessels up to 15 m in length, 5.0 m in beam and 1.70 m draft are permitted. A berth costs €2 per metre of boat length (started) per day, with a minimum of €15 per day, plus a flat €5 for electricity/water/satellite; short stays of up to 3 hours between 08:00 and 16:00 cost just €5. There is no fuel berth in Bad Essen – the nearest refuelling point is at the Mindener Yacht-Club in Minden.
Every berth has connections for shore power, fresh water and satellite TV. In the service building on the harbour grounds, guests can use showers, toilets, a washing machine and tumble dryer (access card available from the harbourmaster). Boat toilets can be pumped out for a fee (€5 per pump-out), and there's a slipway available for €5 per use. Alakara's E-Bike rental is right at the marina, between the Beach Bar "LI-MAN 59" and the service building.
