Mercator Marina Dok 1

Mercator Marina lies right in the heart of Oostende, protected by locks against swell and winter storms, which also makes the marina suitable for wintering aboard.

The pontoons have recently renewed shore power connections of 220V/16A (EU plug), and 32A can be requested before entering the marina. Water is free of charge but shut off from 15 November to 1 April – however, one water point remains available at all times near Kapellebrug. A waiting pontoon is located just before the Mercatorsluizen, on the outer side of the pontoon running parallel to Churchillkaai, and may only be used temporarily until the next inbound lock passage.

The marina offers luxury sanitary facilities with showers, toilets, a washing machine, a dryer and a baby-changing table, open all year round; use is included in the berthing fee, while the washing machine/dryer require tokens from the harbour office (€5.00 each). There is a recycling park near Kapellebrug with containers for PMD, cardboard, glass and residual waste – access requires a chip card from the harbour office. Free loan bicycles are available at a car park on the edge of the centre.

The marina sits in the very centre of Oostende, close to Kapellestraat – the city's biggest shopping street – with a large supermarket just 50 metres away. The train and coastal tram stop right next to the harbour, and the railway station with its beautiful 1910 Belle Epoque façade overlooks the marina.
