Mercator Marina Dok 2

Mercator Marina lies right in the heart of Oostende, protected by locks against swell and winter storms, making it a calm place to berth - including for winter storage.

The waiting pontoon is located directly in front of the Mercatorsluis, on the outside of the pontoon running parallel to Churchillkaai, and may only be used temporarily until the next inward lock passage.

The marina offers luxury sanitary facilities with showers, toilets, a washing machine and dryer (tokens purchased at the harbour office for €5 each), and a baby-changing table - open year-round. The pontoons have recently renewed 220V/16A electrical connections, with 32A available on request before arrival. Water is free, though shut off from 15 November to 1 April, with one water point always available near Kapellebrug. There is a recycling park at Kapellebrug for PMD, cardboard, glass and residual waste - access requires a chip card from the harbour office. Free loan bicycles are available at the outskirts car park.

The marina sits in the very centre of Oostende, close to Kapellestraat - the city's largest shopping street - with a large supermarket just 50 metres away. The city offers a wide range of restaurants, cafés, culture and shopping, and the train station with its beautiful Belle Epoque façade overlooks the marina, with the coastal tram stop nearby too.
