About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Närshamn is an old fishing harbour on the southeast coast of Gotland, in the parish of När, with roots dating back to the 1700s. The harbour continues to be run by the Närs Fiskehamnsförening (Närs Fishing Harbour Association), which works to preserve the authentic character of the fishing port, and although no one still earns a living as a full-time fisherman here, the cold stores and ice-making facility remain operational. Today Närshamn also serves as a guest harbour.

There are no fixed guest berths, but a spot can usually be arranged at the roughly 25-metre-long jetty, where the depth is around 2-3 metres.

Written by artificial intelligence from the harbour's website and may contain errors. The harbour's own information always applies.
