About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Österhamnen is part of the waterfront in central Vaxholm in the Stockholm archipelago and forms part of the roughly 800-metre stretch of quay running from Kronudden to the guest harbour. The area is one of three stages in an extensive renovation of Vaxholm's quays, with Österhamnen being the first stage, built from 2024 to mid-2025 with finishing works in 2027. Since 2 June 2025 Österhamnen has served as the berth for the archipelago ferries, which previously docked at Söderhamnen.

Within walking distance in Österhamnen you can take a historical walking route between Waxholms Hotell and the Wirströmska gårdarna, which tells the story of the area's past.

Written by artificial intelligence from the harbour's website and may contain errors. The harbour's own information always applies.
