About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Østre Bolæren guest marina lies on the west side of the island of Østre Bolæren, the easternmost of the three large islands in the Bolærne archipelago in the outer Oslofjord, within Færder National Park. The marina is a guest harbour with several floating pontoons and space for a good number of visiting boats.
The approach to the harbour is straightforward, and you moor at one of the several floating pontoons, either alongside or using finger berths. A scheduled passenger boat also calls at the harbour. The harbour fee is paid via the Vipps payment app.
As a guest you have access to shore power, fresh water and wifi at the berth. The service building by the harbour houses toilets and showers (a shower costs 20 kroner), as well as washing machines. There is a pump-out station for boat toilets on the first pontoon to the right of the breakwater as you arrive from the sea, normally open for the season until the end of September/beginning of October. Barbecue spots and benches are set up along the pontoons, and there is a playground on site. Close to the harbour you'll find a kiosk as well as Kompasset Café and restaurant, where you can get a meal.
Østre Bolæren is a peaceful recreational area with good walking opportunities. The island still bears clear traces of its time as a defence installation, including cannon displays and a signal station at the top of the island with views over the Oslofjord and Skagerrak.
