About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Port Mercantine is located in Maisod on Lake Vouglans, the 35-kilometre-long lake divided into three marina zones with a total of 700 mooring rings. Port Mercantine itself has 7 pontoons and 274 mooring rings, with spacious berths designed to welcome larger vessels, particularly sailboats.
The marina has a slipway at the 416m General Levelling of France mark. As the marina is deliberately located in a windy area, it is particularly suited to sailing and non-motorised water sports such as canoeing, paddleboarding and pedal boating. Both sailboats and motorboats are limited to a maximum speed of 10 km/h.
No restaurants, shops or other service facilities are stated to be directly at Port Mercantine — these are instead found at the lake's other two marinas, Port Saisse and Port Meix.
Moor at one of the 7 pontoons in Port Mercantine and enjoy the windy, peaceful zone created for sailors and non-motorised water sports.
