About the harbour
Porto comunale Caldè is a small guest harbour in Caldè, a hamlet of Castelveccana in Lombardy on the northern part of Lake Maggiore's western shore. The harbour is medium-sized with a broad and easily accessible entrance, the bottom is moderately deep and consists mainly of sand and mud, and there is sufficient room for maneuvering. Within the harbour is a slipway that permits temporary mooring.
The harbour is equipped with a refreshment bar accessible via a pedestrian passage, a water fountain and showers, plus mooring buoys for small boats. On the main square near the harbour are bars and restaurants with outdoor seating overlooking the lake, plus a children's playground and a kiosk. There is a large car park nearby.
Caldè is characterised by its picturesque lakeside promenade and charming small harbour. From the dominating Rocca fortress overlooking the town, one can enjoy fantastic views over much of Lake Maggiore, and by following paths through the woods one can reach the top of the cliff for 360-degree views.
